Yes, and we also have to start paying teachers better--if nothing else, so we can be more selective and raise the standards of what we expect, and to give them more freedom to teach critical thinking instead of test taking. Of course, it's becoming clearer and clearer that republicans don't just neglect education, they underfund it on purpose because less critical thinking makes their jobs easier and more secure.
