Wow, state workers and national guard as substitute teachers... I think when you reach that point, you should just let the kids have a damn break and relax. Play outside. Read a book, etc. They need it. Everyone needs it. The entire reason we're so stressed and exhausted is because we keep trying to get back to this toxic normal, and fate (if you believe in that), keeps steering us away.
