This post made me realize what’s been in the back of my head this whole time. The privacy debate is distracting us from bigger issues. It’s not really about who knows what, but the decisions we make. We seem to live in a world where someone’s just as likely to get fired over a bar selfie as they are tweeting hate speech. That’s kind of fucked up.

As for Zuck: A lot of voters just wanted a reason — any reason, even a fake one — to vote against someone they already didn’t like. I’m more concerned about voter suppression and ID laws. That’s something we can actually change.
