This is exactly what I’m thinking. Water is going to be the thing you live or die on, and someone would go bankrupt before stockpiling enough for a lifetime. Once water gets scarce, the first thing the rich and powerful will do is fence off the rivers and lakes. You won’t be able to get near them, even during a disaster. I’ll be surprised if they don’t ban backyard rain collection systems. Maybe I’m just planicking, though.
