These tender-age shelters are another stain on our history. The silver lining is that when the news hit, most Americans expressed so much outrage with such force that even the king of the trolls had to pull some pathetic, face-saving move to stop it. That wouldn’t have happened 50 years ago. It doesn’t make me proud, but it makes me feel slightly less hopeless.
