The Pandemic Will End The Only Way It Can — The Hard Way

I’m listening to Joe Rogan.

He’s going off about vaccines. He’s blaming them for the delta variant. He’s complaining about passports and calling democrats power-hungry hypocrites. He says they never follow their own rules.

Unfortunately, it’s a little true. Democrats don’t.

Neither do Republicans.

It’s a mess.

Joe Rogan says freedom is what makes this country great. He warns about liberal power grabs and cancel culture. He says everyone should get to do whatever they want. In this moment, I see the naked logic beneath vaccine refusal. It has nothing to do with science. It has everything to do with being your own boss, your own captain, your own doctor, no matter the cost. Joe Rogan lights a cigar and wonders why nobody talks about strengthening their immune system by living healthy. Joe apparently thinks smoking and drinking doesn’t elevate his risk, or maybe he can sweat it all out.

Joe needs to be careful.

He’s 53.
