The original design reminded me of trying to stick a straw into an orange when I was a little kid. But I was probably trying to do that because I saw it on a Tropicana carton. When it comes to marketing, you can’t ever get better than childhood memories — especially if your company somehow crafted those memories. The brand your customers grew up with is something you want to preserve. :)
