Thanks. :) I've tried to ignore these attacks. Most of them just don't get it. On top of all the other reasons to use a pen name, a tenured professor could easily get fired for running a side blog, simply because they don't like us earning extra income. They could also dump more courses on me, or just make my life miserable until I quit. I also agree that if you don't like something someone else wrote, write your own take and use whatever tone you want, without overtly attacking someone. That's what real writers do. And no, I don't exactly jump at the chance to answer questions like "Why did you have kids if you're a climate activist?" or "If you're so great, why don't you write for The New Yorker?" Sheesh.
