Seems like success on here requires you to write for 4 types of audiences: the core readers, the algorithm, the editors, and yourself. They want different things, so you have to mix it up. Sometimes you can make all 4 happy, but not always. So far I’ve managed to do okay, while also still amusing myself. Hope that helps.

P.S. — I don’t know if summer has any impact on stats. But it stands to reason that if 1/3 of your readership is on vacation any given day, they’re not reading as much as they would be in fall/spring. Maybe?
