I’ve got students who don’t even trust the CDC and think there’s a conspiracy among vaccine providers. I can’t change their minds — just set the standards for source reliability and then grade them. Honestly, I don’t think Zuckerburg cares at all about fake news. He got in trouble, and now he’s trying to save Facebook’s image. But the damage has already been done. Personally, I don’t even bother correcting fake news anymore. The research tends to say it doesn’t do any good. All we can do is try to be careful ourselves and show our kids/students how to process information.
