It’s sad, and hard to believe. Every time I log on social media, there’s another handful of doctors and nurses quitting. In circumstances like this, optimism is a form of emotional labor that one group does to alleviate another’s sense of obligation and responsibility, and that’s what I want to break through by being so blunt.
