I think most people are able to read each other’s intentions pretty quickly, and if you’re actually trying to be considerate toward someone — then I think it comes across. This reminds me of a guy who worked for us for a little while; he would never stop talking, even when we politely told him we were busy. He especially made girls uncomfortable with invasive personal questions. He’d even get upset if they didn’t answer him. Now there’s a creep. No ambiguity there!
