I can still vividly imagine what I’m reading, but it slows me down. If I’m reading nonfiction or academic work, there’s just no need. Maybe it’s sad, but I even find myself irritated sometimes when I try to read fiction. “I can’t see where this is going,” I think, then remember that’s the point of fiction.
