How I Finally Ditched Every Phrase That Was Making Me Sound Weak at My Job

My friend worked in the IT department at my university. It was... interesting. Her coworkers dumped their work on her and then went to hang out with her boss. She was the smartest person in that whole department, and the best graphic designer.
She was smarter than all of them combined.
One day, she tried to get a coworker to fix a problem he’d caused. It was ten minutes before his lunch break, and he was already leaving. My friend called to him. He didn’t answer. He didn’t even turn around. Instead, he burst into a full speed gallop for the door.
Then he was gone, for two hours.
She fixed it herself.
