Experience and research both tell us that what really matters is how the teachers treat their students. If you treat them like inmates, they’ll act that way and refuse to learn. If you treat them each as a potential success story— most of them will respond well, and get smarter. A couple might take advantage of me, or call me a pushover, but that’s a small price.
