Everybody’s different, but if it helps I survived a couple of gut-wrenching breakups and wound up better off, like you say at the end of your piece. My exact words to one Ex were, “I don’t think I’ll be happy for the rest of my life after this.” Pfff, I’ve been happy plenty of times since then.
