After about 12 years of long distance running, I settled for two half marathons, and haven’t run since! The ugly hidden truth is that lots of hardcore runners wind up with serious joint problems later in life. Even before then, you’re always worried about tendonitis and stress fractures, etc. Not worth it. So I stay on cardio machines and go for walks — just as relaxing, less impact.
